Maureen from Idaho

One of our rally captains, Maureen, has held rosary rallies monthly in her city of Nampa, Idaho. Here is her report:

“Starting in August, 2009, Nampa has prayed a Monthly Rosary Rally every month. We have continued this for over eight and a-half years to date.  The most difficult times of prayer have been in the winter weather of wind and cold temperatures.  The most we have had in our group was 17 and the least was 2.  We only had 2 at our rally in December of 2017, when it was exactly 0 degrees.  Our signs have held up pretty well during most of the weather conditions, but we have had to tape a few of them after strong winds.  Several times we have noticed that of all the weather conditions that month, our First Saturday was the most tolerable.   I delight that she is protecting us under her mantle.

Over the years we have had only a few oppose our rally.  We live in a very conservative state.  We pray on the Nampa City Hall steps.  And, counting the cars passing by during our rally, we counted nearly 250.  Once a man tried to physically take down our signs claiming that we had no right to have them up.  He claimed that there was a separation of church and state.  The police came and we won that battle.  After that, we obtained a letter in writing from the Nampa City Council that we had the right to be there.  Since then, one lady came up to us and told us that praying there was fine, but she was against the signs we had displayed.  She also wanted to see permission and claimed she was going to take it to the mayor's office.  She took pictures with her phone of our letter of permission.  That was in September of 2017, we haven't seen her since.  We think she was bothered by the picture of Our Lady.

Fortunately, God has blessed us with steadfast prayer warriors here in our parish.  We have sent the information of our rallies to all the parishes in our area, but few come from those beyond Nampa.  I send a notice each month on email to over 150 addresses.  Sometimes I get back an encouraging reply in thanksgiving for our prayer endeavor from someone who has not attended.  It is uplifting to know people read the email.  We know we are protected and blessed by Our Holy Mother in our witnessing to the devotion of prayer against the sin of this world.”

How many Rosary Rallies have you participated in?
